MAKING RESEARCH ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE

How might we make planning and running RESEARCH easier for non-researchers?

Project Overview:

After a difficult research project in the UK, we decided to create a mobile-first tool to help onsite researchers. This is the first in-house product that Grand Studio has created. I led the project teams through a series of design and research sprints to narrow in on our target audience and fully flesh out a first-stage MVP proof of concept prototype.

After conducting more targeted market and user research, we expanded the scope of the tool to include research operations and logistics support in order to help product managers and product teams feel more comfortable executing and capturing onsite research data.

The tool currently exists as a full proof-of-concept interactive prototype with plans to take it to full development in 2024.

Project Journey:

We designed and tested Noteherder through a series of rapid prototyping sprints, combined with usability testing and feature workshops to ensure that the tool would meet the needs of users with varying levels of familiarity with research. We also conducted market research in order to determine the best fit and target user for Noteherder. We learned that our original target user was a bit off; instead of traditional onsite researchers, Noteherder’s value prop was the research ops support it gave to product managers and product teams who were less familiar with research, but still understood the need to understand their user when developing new products.
