Developed in collaboration with Groundwater Arts, Green New Theatre (GNT) is an initiative to encourage theatres to adapt and evolve their practices in response to the climate crisis. We've taken inspiration from B-Corp standards, regenerative economic theory, the Green New Deal policy proposal, and observations in our own work in decolonization and climate justice. Our approach is multi-layered and emergent that adapts for organizations and individuals at every level of production. What might a Green New Theatre look like?
Currently I am working on the visual identity for “the earth, that is sufficient”, an iterative performance project that conceptualizes theatre-making as an ecology, and asks audiences to consider the braided legacy of our past and the infinite possibilities we might stitch into a shared future.
How do we create a visual brand identity for an emerging consulting group that focuses on climate justice and arts institutions?
